Manu Explorer 4 Days and 3 Nights

We leave Cusco in our comfortable bus, ascending to Paucartambo. On the way, we visit the ancient burial chullpas of Ninamarca, an impressive sample of pre-Inca culture. The tour continues descending through the mysterious cloud forest, home to orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We make a special stop so you can witness the spectacular mating ritual of the Cock of the Rock (Rupicola peruviana), Peru's emblematic bird. In addition, you will have the chance to observe other species such as the Amazonian umbrella bird (Cephalopteros ornatus), the colorful trogons (Trogon sp.), and, with luck, the rare spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus), the only bear in South America.

After a delicious breakfast, the group will be transferred by bus to the port of Atalaya. From there, you will embark on an exciting journey of approximately 4 hours on the Alto Madre de Dios River. During the trip, you will be able to observe a variety of birds such as herons, egrets, kingfishers and the majestic vultures, including the spectacular King Vulture (Sarcoramphus papa).

Around noon, you will enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot springs for an hour. Afterwards, we will arrive at our lodge, where you will have time to rest before an exciting night walk. This activity will allow you to explore the nocturnal wildlife, including frogs, toads, snakes and spiders. We will also visit a small meander lake or stream in search of caimans.

On this day, we will venture deep into the forest to discover nature's incredible offerings. During our excursion, we will look for monkeys, mammals, macaws, parrots and, with some luck, even the majestic jaguar. In addition, we will observe various species of trees, bushes, flowers and medicinal plants.

At noon, we will enjoy a typical jungle lunch with traditional food prepared with local ingredients. In the afternoon, we will continue our exploration in a remote area of the jungle.

In the evening, the most exciting activities will take place in the camouflage house, where we will spend the night. We will have the opportunity to observe the behavior of the tapir, which comes to lick the muddy soil rich in salts. With a little luck, we will be able to see these fascinating animals and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
