The Ministry of Culture has authorized an exceptional increase in the capacity of Machu Picchu during Holy Week, from 4,500 to 5,000 people per day, from March 28 to 31, 2024.

The sale of the additional 500 daily tickets is available through our website: This increase is a pilot plan to evaluate the future dynamic capacity that will be implemented in the coming months.

In addition, preservation work and the installation of video surveillance cameras are underway to improve visitor monitoring.

We remind you that tickets can also be purchased in person at the Machu Picchu Cultural Center, where 1,000 daily tickets are available. It is important to keep in mind that these tickets are for next day visits. Therefore, it is necessary to obtain a ticket in the morning and present it in the afternoon after 3:00 p.m. to purchase entrance tickets to Machu Picchu.

Promotional ticket prices for Peruvian visitors and visitors from member countries of the Andean Community (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia) are S/32 for adults and S/16 for students of higher education and children from 3 to 17 years old, at 6:00 am, 7:00 am, 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

For the same visitors, at other times, the rate is S/64 for adults and S/32 for students and minors. For foreign visitors, the general rate is S/152 for adults, S/77 for students and S/70 for children from 3 to 17 years old.
